Plumber

With a few additional courses, you can also earn an Associate Degree in Construction Technology.

Program Overview

Our program combines hands-on, on-the-job training with classroom instruction. The apprenticeship lasts four years, including 144 hours of related training per year and 8,000 hours of on-the-job experience. After completing the program, apprentices are eligible to take the licensing exam through the Oregon Building Codes Division.


Application Process

All applicants must provide documentation verifying the following:

  1. Education
    • Proof of high school graduation or GED®
  2. Mathematics Requirement
    Applicants must provide one of the following:
    • One full year of high school algebra with a grade of “C” or better
    • One term of college algebra with a grade of “C” or better
    • Current math placement results demonstrating eligibility for Math 60 or Math 98
  3. Proof of Age & Identification
    • Copy of a valid driver’s license

Potential applicants should be aware that significant driving record issues—including DUI, suspended license, or an SR-22 requirement—may disqualify them from placement with training agents. These issues can present a major barrier to entry.

This apprenticeship program is highly competitive. Currently, approximately 30 individuals are on the waiting list. Applicants should ensure their documentation is complete and accurate to remain competitive.
