Admission, Registration and Starting Classes

Who can take RCC classes?

Virtually anyone. Whatever your educational background, we have something for you. Our courses cover a wide range of academic levels, from basic literacy to high-school level, and all the way through college sophomore classes. Whatever your circumstances, we have programs and services to meet your needs.

What if I've been out of school a long time?

You'll be in good company at RCC. More than 57% of our students are over 30. Generally, the younger students are more prevalent in our university transfer and professional-technical programs, while the average student is older in our noncredit programs.

We provide all kinds of support to make adapting to college easier. We have learning labs to help you brush up on the basics. We have workshops to get your test-taking, note-taking and other academic skills up to speed. We have free tutoring in specific subjects. In addition, our instructors will be happy to work with you after class to answer questions.

When does the term begin and end? Are there any holidays or days the college is closed this term?

When is the last day to register?

See Important Dates. The earlier you enroll, the better. Then you get "first pick" of classes and the times you want.

How can I get a list of my classes?

You can view and print your personal schedule from the myRogue menu, select Printable Student Schedule.

Are you on the quarter or semester system?

RCC, like all other Oregon public colleges and universities, operates under the quarter (or term) system: fall, winter, spring and summer.

Can I enroll by phone or over the Internet?

We offer registration and a variety of other services on the Internet through myRogue. In addition, non-credit and personal enrichment class registration is now an easy online shopping-cart process. To get started, go to the Start Now page and select your profile. 

How do I get a list of the books I need?

Just go to our Bookstore web pages.

Financial Matters

How much does it cost to go to RCC?

Tuition at Rogue Community College is one of the lowest for higher education in the area. For current expenses, see Tuition. Also, many of our students find that with our two campus locations and several outreach centers, they can save thousands of dollars in Housing & Food expenses by living at home while going to school. In addition, RCC provides access to many sources of financial aid and scholarships, as well as an easy installment plan.

Can I pay by check or credit card?

Yes. See Paying your Tuition/Fees

Why did I receive an invoice when I've already paid?

Most likely your payment and the invoice just "crossed in the mail." To verify, check the "Bill Date" in the upper right corner. If your payment was received after this date, this is what happened.

If your payment should have been received earlier, or if you just want to check for sure, you can access your student account record in myRogue.

How do I get a copy of my invoice?

Your printed schedule shows how much you owe in tuition and fees for your current courses. For a more detailed look at your invoice, please login to your myRogue and click on "Account History" under the Financial Aid & Payments section.

Why Didn't I get a schedule in the mail?

RCC no longer prints our credit schedule. To see which classes are available, go to Schedule of Classes.

Where can I pick up a schedule?

Classes and Degree Programs

What degree programs are available?

Rogue offers five degrees and over 70 Career Technical programs in a wide variety of fields. Classes are offered day, evening, weekends and online to fit the schedules of busy people.

What if I'm more interested in getting skills than a degree?

Not every program at RCC leads to a degree. We have many certificate programs that can give you the skills you need for immediate employment in one year or less. In addition, RCC offers both credit and non-credit classes and seminars for people looking to upgrade job skills. These classes can be any length: some are only a few hours; others are a lot longer. Do you have classes just for fun?

Yes, you can take a class at RCC just for fun or to satisfy your need to learn. This can be a regular credit class or one of our many Community Education classes.

Will my credits transfer?

The Associate of Arts, Oregon Transfer Degree grants you junior standing when admitted to any Oregon public university. RCC has also developed innovative dual admission programs with Southern Oregon University and Oregon Institute of Technology. If you have questions about transferring credits from other institutions to RCC, talk with an academic advisor or visit the Transfer Center online.

What's the difference between a "campus" and a "center?"

Our three "campuses" are large, full-service facilities offering complete, two-year degrees and a full range of student services. Our centers are smaller facilities with more limited, and often specialized, offerings.

Degree Audit

Why aren’t my courses where I think they should be?

If you believe your audit isn’t correct, make an appointment with your advisor to go over your results. Also, read the details for each section on the program advising guide for further information.

When I try to access Degree Audit, why does it say there is an error?

  1. If you have forgotten the log-in to your myRogue account, follow the instructions on the myRogue login page to recover your user name or reset your password.
  2. If you did log-in and aren’t able to access your audit, there are times when the Degree Audit site may be down for updates and you will need to try again later. If this problem persists, contact Enrollment Services at 956-7427.

I don’t have internet at home; can I have an audit mailed to me?

Your audit can be retrieved from any place you can access the internet. You can visit any Rogue Campus and log on to one of the computers for student use. We do not mail Degree Audits.

Now that I have completed another term, can I see where the new courses I completed have applied in my audit?

Yes, each term after grades have posted, you can update your audit.  Log-in to your Degree Audit homepage, from the “Audit History” button, select the audit you wish to update and then select “View”. When your audit appears, select the cloud icon  located on the tool bar.

Why are there only 12 credits of “Courses in Progress” on my audit, when I am enrolled in 15 credits?

Only courses which apply to your program will appear on your audit. If you believe there is a course missing that should be applied, check with your advisor.

What does “Select Alternate Path” mean and why is it listed under some of the requirements, but not all of them?

“Select Alternate Path” is listed under requirements which you can fulfill multiple ways. When you choose “Select Alternate Path” a pop-up box will appear with course lists that will fulfill the requirement. First, uncheck the default course list and then, check the box for the course list you plan to complete and “Submit”. Your audit will then reload and include the customized course list you selected.
