The cost of the Personal Care Attendant course is $179, with textbooks from the Medifecta company costing $14.50 & $9.
Oregon residents of Josephine and Jackson counties may apply for a $100 scholarship by completing an application.

What you will learn
- Essential caregiving and professional skills needed to provide high-quality care.
- Role and responsibilities of a personal care attendant and how to relate to other members of the care team.
- Important social issues such as Alzheimer’s, elder abuse and cultural competence.
When you successfully complete this course you will have learned the basic principles for each care giving procedure.
Additional training
CPR training and basic first aid training are also important training. You may need these skills in your work as a personal care attendant. Your agency may provide the training or you can find CPR training at hospitals, fire stations and Red Cross chapters. Red Cross and community colleges offer first aid training as well.
