All students seeking admission to RCC Nursing must first apply and be accepted as a student at Rogue Community College. Your RCC student email and ID# will be used to apply to any nursing program.

All official communications from the RCC Nursing Program — including notices and deadlines — will be sent exclusively to your RCC Student Email address. You are responsible for checking this email regularly and using your RCC ID number for all correspondence with the program.

All students must complete a simple Placement Process.

Your Academic and Career Coach and Financial Aid Advisors are assigned by Guided Pathway.

Nursing students are in the Health Professions and Public Safety Pathway. Please make appointments and work with your advisors to help choose the best schedule toward your completion needs and goals.

Student seeking financial assistance or aid to pay for courses, books and supplies can contact their Financial Aid Advisor.

Please note: RCC Academic and Career Coaches may answer questions about the application but the responsibility for understanding and completing the application is on the student.

RCC offers Financial Aid support as well as Scholarship resources. To gain a better understanding of the costs to attend RCC as a Nursing student, below are estimated Practical and Associate Degree Nursing Program costs:

Students seeking financial assistance or aid to pay for courses, books and supplies should contact their Financial Aid Advisor.

Courses taken at Rogue Community College do NOT need to be submitted for transfer evaluation.

General education courses must be completed at a regionally accredited college or university for transfer to RCC.

Credits taken pass/no pass (if accepted by the college as meeting requirements) may be considered only if the “pass” was equivalent to a “C-” or better.

The following GPAs are required to be eligible to apply:

  • Fall 2026 Entry ADN applicants – 3.0 GPA
  • Fall 2026 Practical Nursing applicants – 2.5 GPA
Practical Nursing applicants are no longer required to have a OSBN CNA certification.

Notes about your academic history:

  • Applicants must be in good academic standing at RCC (not on academic suspension the term before application).
  • Applications will not be processed for students with financial holds at RCC. Applications will be held until the financial hold is cleared, and if not cleared by the February 15 deadline will result in a disqualification.
  • Transfer applicants who have received a grade of "F" or "W" in any nursing clinical course, who were dismissed from another nursing program prior to receiving a grade or who were involved in any disciplinary or performance-related process related to patient safety will not be considered for admission to the program.

Students have the opportunity to earn application selection points based on Healthcare Work Experience. During the application process, you will be asked to share supervisor contact information so that we can request a referral upon application submission.

While we understand that many applicants want to wait to submit their work experience until close to the deadline to ensure maximization of points earned, it is extremely important that you complete your application and work experience verification request in time for your supervisor to respond to the request prior to the February 15 deadline.

It is your responsibility to follow up with your supervisor to ensure the form is completed on time (you will be emailed a confirmation to your RCC Student Email once they have submitted the form to RCC). Lack of submission of work verification will result in 0 points being awarded.

The ATI TEAS exam is a widely used nursing admissions test that assesses applicants' readiness for nursing programs. Applicants must schedule and take the proctored online TEAS through ATI, achieving a composite score of 58.7% or higher to qualify.

It is recommended to complete the exam before applying and paying your application fee to ensure your score is 58.7%. Study materials are available for purchase through ATI.

Scheduling the ATI Exam should be done several weeks in advance of February 15 to ensure an appointment can be made before the deadline. We will not wait for late exam scores.

Retakes for score improvement require a two-week interval between attempts, and applicants should ensure testing is completed before the application deadline.

ATI Exam scores are valid for two years from the test date.

Please make sure you have copies of your TEAS exam scores/verification so you can add it to your Nursing application.

More information and access to the test can be found on the ATI TEAS website.

If requesting Military or Veteran application points, you will need to submit a copy of your certified DD214-Service 2 Form or NGB 22 Form.

Please make sure you have copies of your Military documents to attach to your Nursing application.

Applicants currently on active duty in one of the armed services must submit appropriate documents showing active military duty and good standing.

Support for military students can also be found by visiting the Military Services Department at RCC.

The Rogue Community College Nursing Program has the responsibility to society to educate competent health care providers to care for their patients/clients with clinical judgment, broadly based knowledge, and competent technical skills at the entry level.

The program has academic and technical standards (non-academic criteria) students must meet to progress in and graduate from the program successfully.

Progression in the program is dependent on the demonstration of the technical standards with or without reasonable accommodations. If you would like to discuss potential accommodations to meet any of the listed technical and functional standards, please make an appointment early with Access and Disability Services.

Computer and Internet Basics

Basic computer and internet access for students is essential. RCC offers student computer labs on all 3 campuses. Students admitted to RCC are assigned a personal RCC email address. Students with an RCC email address are given free access to Microsoft Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) that they can use on line or download to their personal computers.

Internet and email access are integral parts of all practical nursing courses as all course exams will be online with ATI Testing and possession or access to a laptop computer and printer (located in the RCC libraries and computer labs on each campus) for classroom use will be required daily. Phones and tablets do not provide full functionality. Assignments, quizzes and communication typically utilize the various tools of Rogue Online (Blackboard), the college’s learning management system.

Access and Disability Resources

Any student who feels that they may need academic accommodations should make an appointment with the Access and Disability Services Office. It is important to establish contact at least 4-6 weeks prior to entering the program. For more information, visit the Access and Disability Services page.
