LPN to RN Advanced Placement Bridge Program
Thank you for your interest in the Rogue Community College LPN to RN Advanced Placement Bridge Program! All RCC Nursing Programs are approved by the Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN, 17938 SW Upper Boones Ferry Rd., Portland, OR, 971-673-0685).
RCC Nursing Programs are both exciting and challenging, offering graduates opportunities for employment in various settings leading to a lifelong, fulfilling career. The Advanced Placement/Bridge program demands may pose unique personal and academic challenges. Many students balance school with multiple responsibilities, such as family and job commitments. Success in the program requires a firm commitment, and the nursing faculty is dedicated to helping you succeed.

The LPN Advanced Placement Program is slated to reopen in the Fall 2026 term* and progress through four consecutive terms as described in the below table.

Credit Award for Previous Practical Nursing Courses
LPNs interested in the advanced placement process must meet the minimum criteria for eligibility by the application deadline of April 15, 2026. Acceptance for the fall term entry includes the evaluation and scoring of the following:
Minimum Eligibility Criteria to Apply: To be eligible to apply for the advanced placement application process, LPNs must meet the following criteria by the application deadline of April 15, 2026:
- A current, unencumbered Oregon LPN license
- Completion of a minimum of 28 prerequisite credits (including BI231/231L and MTH95 or higher)
- A cumulative GPA of ≥3.0 (each course must be a C- or better)
- Submission of TEAS scores with a passing score of 58.7% or higher (within two years of the application deadline).
- Participation in one (1) essay session
Students who have failed any nursing course more than once (or any two nursing courses), regardless of the program, will not be considered for reentry or admission to the program. If failure of the nursing courses occurred before completion of a Practical Nursing Program, the student may make an appointment with the Nursing Program Director for eligibility consideration.
