- Transfer applicants who have received a grade of "F" or "W" in any dental clinical course, who were dismissed from another dental program prior to receiving a grade or who were involved in any disciplinary or performance-related process related to patient safety will not be considered for admission to the program.
Students have the opportunity to earn application selection points based on Healthcare Work Experience. During the application process, you will be asked to share supervisor contact information so that we can request a referral upon application submission.
While we understand that many applicants want to wait to submit their work experience until close to the deadline to ensure maximization of points earned, it is extremely important that you complete your application and work experience verification request in time for your supervisor to respond to the request prior to the March 31 deadline.
It is your responsibility to follow up with your supervisor to ensure the form is completed on time (you will be emailed a confirmation to your RCC Student Email once they have submitted the form to RCC). Lack of submission of work verification will result in 0 points being awarded. If requesting Military or Veteran application points, you will need to submit a copy of your certified DD214-Service 2 Form or NGB 22 Form.
Please make sure you have copies of your Military documents to attach to your Dental application.
Applicants currently on active duty in one of the armed services must submit appropriate documents showing active military duty and good standing.
Support for military students can also be found by visiting the Military Services Department at RCC.
Dental Technical and Functional Standards / Digital Literacy
The Rogue Community College Dental Program has the responsibility to society to educate competent health care providers to care for their patients/clients with clinical judgment, broadly based knowledge, and competent technical skills at the entry level.
The program has academic and technical standards (non-academic criteria) students must meet to progress in and graduate from the program successfully.
Progression in the program is dependent on the demonstration of the technical standards with or without reasonable accommodations. If you would like to discuss potential accommodations to meet any of the listed technical and functional standards, please make an appointment early with Access and Disability Services.
Click the link to read the full Technical Standard Requirements before applying to any RCC Dental Programs.
Computer and Internet Basics
Basic computer and internet access for students is essential. RCC offers student computer labs on all 3 campuses. Students admitted to RCC are assigned a personal RCC email address. Students with an RCC email address are given free access to Microsoft Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) that they can use on line or download to their personal computers.
Internet and email access are integral parts of all dental courses as all courses hae an online component to them and possession or access to a laptop computer and printer (located in the RCC libraries and computer labs on each campus) for classroom use will be required daily. Phones and tablets do not provide full functionality. Assignments, quizzes and communication typically utilize the various tools of Rogue Online (Blackboard), the college’s learning management system.
Access and Disability Resources
Any student who feels that they may need academic accommodations should make an appointment with the Access and Disability Services Office. It is important to establish contact at least 4-6 weeks prior to entering the program. For more information, visit the Access and Disability Services page.
