The Placement Process

Welcome to RCC! We are glad you have decided to take classes with us!

Placement is Open for Summer and Fall Terms.

To complete the placement process, you can do this one of many ways. You can:

• Complete the self guided placement form (linked below)
• Submit the following documents to [email protected]
• unofficial college transcripts
• unofficial test scores (GED® or Accuplacer)
• unofficial ACT or SAT scores
• Sign up for the Accuplacer placement test (when tests are available)

Place yourself in math and writing courses.

Many of our credit courses have prerequisites, requiring a certain level of math and writing competency. Knowing which courses are best for you is important and will save you time, money and frustration. Let's place you into classes that best fit your current skills.

The Self-Guided Placement option allows you to identify your skills and knowledge toward writing and math. With this information, we can provide an initial course placement and get you started towards registration. The classes will be used to meet prerequisites.

We want you to start college with confidence! We can accept any combination of answers, so please complete the entire form.

Admissions and Recruitment will review your Self-Guided Placement responses and process your initial course placement. You will receive an email once we have processed your submission, and let you know your next steps.
