Human Services Application Procedures and Info Sessions

A career in human services offers many opportunities. RCC's programs provide the training and experience you need to enter this rewarding field and to fulfill the high demand for Human Service professionals. RCC Human Services advisors will assist you in deciding which pathway is right for you based on your interests, aptitudes, and career goals.

The application process will close August 30, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. for fall 2026-2027 entry.

Step 1: Watch the mandatory information session video

Watch the following video. Students are encouraged to take notes so they can easily complete the subsequent quiz. The quiz needs to be passed with 100% correct answers to access the application. Students will have unlimited attempts to complete the quiz, but notes can be helpful in speeding up the process.

Step 2: Apply to Rogue Community College (if not already admitted)
Submit an online application to RCC and then complete the required Placement Process.

An RCC Student ID number will be required to complete the application. The admissions process must be done first. If a student is already admitted to RCC, proceed to step 3.

Step 3: Complete the Information Session Quiz

After watching the video, students will complete the Information Session quiz to ensure their understanding of key details related to this program.

Once the quiz questions are answered correctly and the quiz is submitted, a link will be provided to the Human Services Program Application. This link is included in the message confirming submission.

Step 4: Submit your Human Services Application
Following the submission of the quiz, a link will be provided to the Human Services Program Application. Once all required fields in the form are completed, the application should be submitted and will be processed.

Step 5: Applicants will be notified by email of their application status
Once applications are submitted and processed, students will receive an acceptance letter via their RCC Student Email. This process typically takes 3-4 weeks. Students are encouraged to check their student email regularly until their acceptance is received. Students should NOT contact the department to check their status. Please email [email protected] if your contact information changes or if you wish to withdraw or postpone your application.

Step 6: Orientation and Advising
Students accepted into the Human Services program must attend a mandatory program orientation and advising session. Accepted students will be notified of the date, time and location as far in advance as possible so they can plan accordingly.

Academic planning can be done with the RCC Advising Department.

Step 7: Make a plan for the completion of your foundational corequisite classes.
For the AAS or AS Transfer degrees: plan to complete the following pre-requisites BEFORE starting in the Human Services Program:

  • MTH 20 – Pre-algebra

For the AAS or AS transfer degrees: plan to complete the following courses as corequisites (in addition to core HS classes) in the first three-four terms with a C- grade or higher.
