Rogue Community College partners with Linn-Benton Community College to help you prepare for a career as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) while staying in Southern Oregon. You can complete prerequisite courses at RCC, then apply to LBCC’s OTA program and complete much of your coursework through distance education. This flexible partnership allows you to train for an in-demand healthcare career while continuing to live and work in your local community.

Occupational therapy assistants work under the supervision of an occupational therapist to help people who are recovering from injuries, managing illnesses or living with physical, developmental or mental health challenges. You will help clients build skills for daily living, work and independence in settings such as hospitals, rehabilitation centers, schools and long-term care facilities. This six-term, two-year program leads to an Associate of Applied Science degree awarded through LBCC and includes classroom, laboratory and fieldwork experiences. Graduates are prepared to sit for the national certification exam and enter the workforce quickly as entry-level occupational therapy assistants.
