Prepare for your LPN career with Rogue Community College’s Practical Nursing program. This one-year certificate prepares you to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and enter a rewarding, in-demand field. You gain hands-on experience providing safe, compassionate care in hospitals, long-term care facilities, home health settings and medical offices. Through classroom instruction, skills labs and supervised practicum experiences, you learn to collect patient information, provide personal care, perform focused assessments, give medications and support care plans under the guidance of licensed health professionals.
RCC’s supportive environment and small class sizes help you build confidence, grow your skills and prepare for meaningful work in Southern Oregon and beyond. This program is approved by the Oregon State Board of Nursing and meets the education requirements to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX PN) licensing exam. Beginning fall 2025, practical nursing courses are embedded within the Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program, giving students who qualify a seamless pathway to further their nursing education.
As a special admission program, RCC’s Practical Nursing program has additional requirements and a separate admission process beyond general college admission. Program admission occurs once each year, with classes starting in fall term after acceptance.
