Policy 010: Qualifications of Instructors

VI.B.010

Candidates recommended to the Board of Education of Rogue Community College for teaching college transfer subjects will have at least a master’s degree in their subject fields or equivalent. Foremost consideration in hiring vocational instructors will be experience in and knowledge of the occupational area in which they are instructing.

Consideration will also be given to evidence of qualification to assist in areas outside the classroom.

Policy 020: Faculty Hours on Campus

VI.B.020

The teaching staff of Rogue Community College shall have announced office hours on campus and shall be otherwise generally available to students for consultation. Office hours shall be posted at the instruction office and be available in the appropriate dean’s office. A full-time faculty member shall be available for faculty-related duties as assigned by the appropriate dean. Specific details of work assignments and responsibilities will be included in collective bargaining agreements.
