GED Preparation
Earning your GED at Rogue Community College is a four step process:
- Prepare - Contact one of RCC's three Learning Centers for assistance in preparing for your GED.
- Pay for GED Test - Go to cashier at Rogue Central and Pay $100 test fee.
- Register - Attend a scheduled "Registration Session" at one of RCC's two Testing Centers.
- Test - Take each of the five GED tests during scheduled "Testing Sessions" at an RCC Testing Center.
Preparation:
- If you are 16 or 17 years of age you must first obtain a Referral for Instrucction frm the high school district in which you live. Contact an RCC Learning Center near you or your local high school for more information.
- If you are between 18 and 20 years of age and still in high school, you may access the GED preparation programs at the RCC Learning Centers or through your local high school.
- If you are 18 years or older and not in high school, assessment and instruction is available through the RCC Learning Centers. These services are offered on a term by term basis. A modest fee is charged. (Although formal preparation is not required before registration and testing, it is recommended.)
- If you are desiring independent study you may purchase GED preparation manuals or check-out manuals at the local library (2002 test series). Online practice is provided at www. gedpractice.com or www.Gedwriting.com
- Accommodations for disabilities are available. Contact an RCC Testing Center prior to registration regarding the application process. In Josephine County call (541) 956-7100; in Jackson County call (541) 245-7573 and request a disability form for special accommodation testing 4 weeks before registering.
- Spanish GED preparation is offered at the RCC Learning Centers.
