Jennifer Krauss Phillippi

Jennifer Krauss Phillippi, a CPA who runs Perpetua Forests Company, is the daughter of Lew & Kathy Krauss. Lew served on RCC’s very first Board of Education in the 1970’s. Her mother, Kathy, and Kathy’s sister, Mary Slayter, were on the original faculty teaching humanities. Jennifer and her six siblings, raised in Selma, OR, all took courses at RCC before heading off to college. To say she is familiar with, and an advocate of, community college education is an understatement.
After graduating from U of O in 1982, Jennifer worked for national public accounting firms before returning to run the family’s business, Rough & Ready Lumber in Cave Junction.
She has served on the Oregon Board of Forestry, OSU Forest Research Lab Advisory Board, Oregon Watershed Enhancement Board, the Oregon Forest Resources Institute, the American Resources Council, the S. Oregon Timber Industries Association and the Small Business Timber Council.
She also served three terms on the Four Way Community Foundation Board including as Chair, and she is an active member of the Illinois Valley Rotary Club.
Jennifer and her husband, Lincoln (“Link”) have three grown children and two mischievous Wire-Fox terriers named Chip & Tally. They are active as cycling enthusiasts, and enjoy running and hiking. They love trees, birds and books, and regularly attend 5:00 am ‘Boot Camp’ exercise class!
