The Rogue Community College Pre-Dental Assisting Career Pathway Certificate offers a flexible pathway into the dental profession for students who need a part-time schedule or are not yet eligible for RCC's Dental Assistant Certificate program. Whether you're completing high school, working toward your GED®, balancing a job or returning to school after time away, this program helps you take the first steps toward a rewarding healthcare career.
This structured pathway begins in winter term and combines prerequisite courses with foundational dental assisting training. You'll learn through online coursework and a hands-on lab one evening each week at RCC's Redwood Campus.
After completing the five-term Career Pathway Certificate and meeting admission requirements, you can apply to continue into an abbreviated summer Dental Assistant Certificate cohort, where you'll complete advanced training and a practicum experience.
In as few as six terms, you can earn your dental assisting credentials and prepare to enter the workforce with confidence. Some courses may also apply toward RCC's Dental Hygiene program, creating additional opportunities for career growth.
