How to Get Started

If the number of qualified applicants exceeds available cohort capacity, applicants may be asked to participate in an interview process. Students who are admitted to a cohort are required to attend a mandatory program orientation before classes begin.

The following steps will help you prepare for the Pre-Dental Assisting Career Pathway Certificate.

Step 1: Apply for Admission to RCC.
Applying to Rogue Community College is free and only takes a few minutes online.

Step 2: Complete the RCC Placement Process.
Placement helps determine the math and writing courses that are right for you.

Step 3: Apply for Admission to the Pre-Dental Assisting Program. 
Applications for this special admission program open during fall term for a winter start. (Link TBD)

Step 4: Attend a New Student Orientation.
Orientation introduces you to campus resources, academic expectations and student life so you can begin your college experience with confidence.

Step 5: Attend a First Term Advising Session.
Dental assisting students are part of the Health Professions and Public Safety Pathway. Your advisor can help you understand program requirements, create an education plan and prepare for future admission steps.

Step 6: Explore Financial Aid Options.
Meet with a Financial Aid Advisor to learn about grants, scholarships and other resources that may help pay for college.

Step 7: Submit Official Transcripts.
If you attended another college, submit official transcripts for evaluation so eligible transfer credits can be applied to your record.

If the number of qualified applicants exceeds available space, the highest-ranked applicants may be invited to participate in an interview as part of the selection process.

You will be notified of your admission status through your RCC student email at least two weeks before the mandatory program orientation. Be sure to check your student email regularly for important updates, next steps and deadlines.
