The Employment Skills Training certificate is a special admission program, which means you must meet additional requirements and complete a separate admission process beyond general college admission. To be considered for acceptance into the program, complete the steps below. Each step is designed to help you build a training plan that fits your goals and sets you up for success.
Steps to Get Started
- Attend an Employment Skills Training information session.
Email OccupationalSkillsInfoFREERogue%20Community%20College or call 541-956-7380 to request a Zoom link for information sessions. - Apply for admission to Rogue Community College.
- Complete the Employment Skills Training application.
Link will be shared during the Information Session. - Attend the New Student Orientation (NSO).
- Meet with program faculty to customize your program.
Receive input from training site supervisors on your academic plan. - Enroll in courses that match your placement results and training goals.
- Complete any additional requirements, such as criminal background checks or professional liability insurance, if required for your chosen occupation.
After you submit a completed Employment Skills Training application, program staff will review your materials. If you are accepted, you will work closely with RCC faculty to create a personalized program that includes training goals, selected coursework and an approved training site. This plan is developed with input from both faculty and training site supervisors to support your path to employment.
After you Apply
After you submit your application, you will meet with a program advisor to review
your goals, placement results and interests. Together, you will develop a customized
training plan that outlines your coursework, practicum experience and training site.
You will also complete any additional requirements needed for your chosen occupation,
such as criminal background checks or professional liability insurance. Once these
steps are complete, you will be ready to register for classes and begin building skills
that prepare you for employment.
