Schedule Overview
This two-year program moves quickly from introductory courses to hands-on learning and caps off with an advanced project creating a prototype and cooperative work experience with a local employer.
The first year will work from the basics and prepare you for advanced projects.
Term 1: Explore the fundamentals of mechanical drafting, manufacturing, machine shop and
metrology and learn math for practical application in technical and manufacturing
settings.
Term 2: Dive into blueprint reading and study computer-aided design (CAD), metallurgy and
get hands-on experience with machining jobs for manufacturing.
Term 3: Move on to advanced CAD and CAM work (Autodesk Inventor), prototyping, CNC controls
and machine shop tooling and mill work.
In the second year, you will apply your new skills to advanced operations and a capstone project.
Term 4: Machine shop for lathe and mill work, advanced CNC programming.
Term 5: Mastercam CAD, industrial welding and writing for technical professionals.
Term 6: Machining capstone project, cooperative work experience with an employer, emergency
first aid and human relations in organizations.

Graduation Requirements
The Manufacturing Technology Associate of Applied Science degree requires the completion of 90-91 program credits and 0-4 prerequisite credits, which may be waived based on placement. Students must complete all courses outlined in this program with a grade of “C” or better to earn a degree. Students are strongly encouraged to meet with an Academic Advisor or faculty advisor before beginning any coursework.
