Applying to the RCC Dental Hygiene program is an exciting step toward a fast-moving career in the dental field. Because this is a special admission program, you’ll follow a guided application process that helps you meet prerequisites, gather documents and show you are ready for the next stage of your education. The application window closes March 31, 2026, and top applicants will be invited to take part in the next phase of selection. Throughout the process, you’ll use your RCC student email for updates, reminders and important information to help you stay on track.
Phase I
- Check all Entry Requirements before applying.
- Pay your application fee via the Campus Marketplace once the application opens.
- Apply to RCC before completing the Dental Hygiene Program Application.
The following steps must be completed before you are able to apply for the Dental Hygiene program.

submit your application to the college. After you apply, you’ll meet with an advisor
who will help you explore your program's options and create a plan that matches your

How to Get Started
Getting started at Rogue Community College is simple. Follow these steps to enroll and begin working toward your goals.
- Apply to Rogue Community College: It’s free and only takes a few minutes online.
- Complete the Placement Process: This shows what math and writing classes you should start with first.
- Attend a New Student Orientation: Provides crucial information on campus resources, academic expectations and student life, helping you feel more prepared and connected.
- Attend a First Term Advising Session: Academic Advisors help you choose classes and plan your schedule.
- Register for Classes: Once your schedule is set, you’re ready start your first term.
Additional Special Admissions Requirements
- Complete at least 28 credits of prerequisite coursework with a grade of C or better, as outlined in the Program Map. Finishing more prerequisites can make your application stronger.
- Gather your documents and pay the application fee. Submit official transcripts for any college work outside RCC, prepare proof for selection points if you have them and pay the $100 Dental Hygiene application fee in Marketplace after Jan. 5 and before you submit your application. Save your payment confirmation email.
- Submit your Dental Program application by the deadline of March 31 and watch your RCC student email. If invited, attend the on-campus essay session in April. Admission decisions are sent by May 1.
Phase II: Essays
The top ranked applicants for the DH program will be invited to sit for one of the offered essay sessions.
The essay portion of the application will consist of multiple scenario-based questions for response. The essay is worth a maximum of 30 points to be added to your Phase I score. You will not receive a copy of your essay score. The essay portion of the application is scheduled for April, 2026, on the Table Rock Campus in White City, Oregon.

Phase III: Selection Requirements
While applicants should continue working to complete their prerequisite coursework, you should NOT pursue meeting the clinical requirements before being offered a seat in the dental program. Applicants with an admissions offer will receive specific directions from the RCC Dental Program on how to fulfill these requirements. This information will be sent to your RCC student email.
If you are selected for a 2026/27 Dental Program, congratulations!
Applicants offered a seat in the Dental Hygiene program must complete all outstanding prerequisite courses (44 credits) by the end of term prior to starting the program. Students must maintain their 2.5 GPA for the remainder of the prerequisite coursework. In addition, prior to beginning dental courses, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Pass a criminal background check from an agency designated by RCC.
- Pass a 10-panel drug screen from a lab designated by RCC.
- Submit proof of current immunizations and current American Heart Association BLS certification for health care providers.
Applicants should NOT pursue meeting the Phase III requirements before being offered a seat in the dental program. Applicants with an admissions offer will receive specific directions from the RCC Dental Program on how to fulfill these requirements. This information will be sent to your RCC student email.
