Rogue Community College follows a structured budget development process to ensure
transparency, accountability and compliance with Oregon’s Local Budget Law.
The process includes four key phases:
- Preparation — The Budget Office works with departments to develop a proposed budget based on projected revenues and program needs.
- Approval — The District Budget Committee reviews the proposed budget, asks questions and receives public comment.
- Adoption — The Board of Education holds a public hearing and formally adopts the budget.
- Execution — The College implements the adopted budget and monitors revenues and expenditures throughout the fiscal year.
Public involvement is an important part of the process. Budget committee meetings and hearings provide opportunities for community members to review the proposed budget and share input.
