Colletta Young, Director of Student Support Services (TRIO)
I moved to Rogue Community College in 2011 to Direct RCC’s (TRiO) Student Support Services (SSS) project. I am responsible for providing leadership and direction to this Federally Funded Program.
The goal of SSS is to increase the college retention and graduation rate of its participants and facilitate the process of transition from one level of higher education to the next. Going to college can be a life changing experience, having a good roadmap helps. It is my passion to help students navigate the higher education system and find success in college.
I began my career as a classroom teacher. I also held positions of counselor and administrator in public schools. Since 1992, I have worked in the student services arena of Higher Education.
I hold a BS in Home Economics/Education from Abilene Christian University; a M.Ed. in Counseling/Psychology from West Texas A & M University, and a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from Gonzaga University.
