Annual Learning Improvement Plan
Collectively, outcomes and assessment are built upon the belief “Learning goals are promises that we make to our students, their families, employees and society that every student who passes this course, or completes this learning experience successfully, or graduates with this degree can do the things we promise in our learning goals.” (Suskie, 2018)
In 2021-22, we developed the Annual Learning Improvement Plan. We set out to do this work with the intent to create a community at RCC rooted in betterment and framed it using the National Institute for Learning Outcomes Assessment, Evidence Based Storytelling in Assessment by Natasha Jankowski.
The Outcomes and Assessment Council collaborated in teams to provide a holistic peer-review of the annual reporting accomplished by instructional departments which culminated in a cross-discipline analysis, intended to give thoughtful, intentional feedback, while offering helpful and supportive ideas.
We asked Department Chairs and faculty to share their feedback on the Annual Learning Improvement Plans with their entire department and together, consider how the feedback may inform the department’s focus in the coming year.
