The Ospreys (1-1) opened up the 2023 season against host Edmonds College (1-0). They played a tough defense as usual but the talented Edmonds squads attack would prove to much as the second set momentum shift fell short and the Ospreys lost 0-3. The second match against Olympic (0-2) saw the Ospreys get into their offensive attach as they cruised to their first victory of the year.
The Ospreys will play again tomorrow, Saturday August 26, when they take on South Puget Sound (0-1) and Bellevue College (0-0). The Ospreys will open South Region play at home Friday September 8th at 6:00pm against Mt. Hood.

RCC Hires Gavin Wilmott to Helm Return of Women’s Soccer
Jan. 13, 2023
MEDFORD, OR – The Rogue Community College Ospreys athletics department has hired Gavin Wilmott to helm the return of the women’s soccer program that has been in hiatus since the end of the 2019 season. The program will begin competition this coming Fall.
Coach Wilmott found a love for the Rogue Valley and our soccer community when he moved to Oregon to play for the Ospreys in 2018. He has always been involved in a team that is a unit on and off the field and looks to build a program that will reflect his experience.
“For the program it is our goal to help each player become better on the field and in the classroom,” he says. “As a coach I look to have each training session be an opportunity for players to better themselves on the field and allow the team to become one unit that will play together through the final whistle. I will continue to work and grow to help my players reach their next level on the field and off.”
Originally from the Eastern Bay area of California, Coach Wilmott played for Diablo FC and Impact Soccer Club. After graduation he played for Rogue in 2018 and 2019, earning All-Star and All-Academic honors as a sophomore, while also being named RCC Student Athlete of the Year for 19-20. He transferred to Oregon Tech where he won a Cascade Conference Championship in 2021. He completed his degree in 2022 and was the assistant coach for Ospreys Men’s Soccer in the Fall of 2022.
As part of our build back we are hosting a free ID Camp for any Women's Soccer player who is a junior in high school or older. The camp will be run by Head Coach Gavin Wilmott at Lithia and Driveway Fields #10 (Stadium) Friday February 10 from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. More information on the camp will be released shortly.
