Micah Dimmick

Student Body President: Micah Dimmick
[email protected]

Hello, my name is Micah Dimmick, I am your student body president. I am working on my transfer degree for social sciences, so I can become a history teacher. I have a deep passion for all things historical, and I deeply value the cultural and historical meaning of things. History is my passion and it's my belief that to understand the present you must understand the past. I was born and raised in Grants Pass, I absolutely love the beauty of this area. I love to kayak down the rogue river with my family. My other hobbies include playing dungeons and dragons, and playing all sorts of video games like Hades, Astroneer and even God of War. As ASG president I want to create a community of togetherness at this college. Our purpose is not only to make resources available to students but also creating a fun, engaging and accepting student community.

Business Specialist of Governance: Aviyah Jones

Currently attending classes at RCC, I am working towards my AAOT. Though my major is undecided I am considering a Mechanical Engineering degree. My main aspiration, however, is to attend the Air Force Academy and later a career in aviation.

Outside of RCC I enjoy participating in the Civil Air Patrol program where I hold the grade of C/1st Lt and the position of Cadet Competition Commander. In addition, I participate in a youth project working to rebuild a Mooney aircraft engine and the Experimental Aircraft Association where I work on the monthly newsletter. While there are a lot of things I like to spend my time doing I am most happy when I am doing something physically active.

As the Business Specialist for the ASG team, I look forward to supporting the clubs with their goals and needs, as well as building a better connection between the student body and staff. In addition to this I plan on creating events and activities that encourage engagement and create a strong community for the student body.

Joseph Maurer

Student Engagement Advisor (Josephine County): Marjan Coester
[email protected]

Hi! I am Marjan Coester, the Student Engagement Advisor for Redwood Campus. I'm native to the Northwest, born and raised in Eugene. I worked in student life/student activities positions in Washington state for 15 years. In June 2023, I completed 18 years at Umpqua Community College, serving as the Director for Student Engagement.

In my free time, I read (A LOT) of mystery, paranormal, and sci-fi books (I have a personal library of over 1,000 “real” paperbacks and another 2,000 e-books) and I also write flash fiction. I enjoy console, computer, and mobile games. I am a highly handicapped golfer and an inflexible yoga practitioner. Todd (my husband) and I serve as unpaid staff for our three indoor and three outdoor cats.

I'm grateful for the opportunity to work with the student leaders at RCC and to be a part of their journey.

Director of Student Engagement: Joseph Maurer

Hello! I am Joseph Maurer, the Director of Student Engagement for RCC and an advisor to ASGRCC. I’m originally from Pittsburgh, PA, where I lived until heading to Denver, Colorado, to complete my master's degree in counseling psychology. The Rocky Mountains gave me a taste for exploration, leading me to move around the country over the years—including stints in New Mexico, Texas, Ohio, and Oregon, which has been my home for the last 12 years.

I have two sons: Nicholas, who graduated from OIT in 2020 and then moved back to Houston, TX, where he lives and works as a veterinary assistant, and Stephen, who is in his junior year at OSU studying mathematics.

With too many hobbies and interests to fit into a normal day, I focus my free time on kayaking, cycling, wood turning, reading, and cuddling up with my two kittens, Luna and Neville. I moved to Grants Pass in June from Klamath Falls, where I most recently served as the director of A Family Gathering Place Relief Nursery, a program serving children under 6 who have experienced trauma, along with their families.

I’m excited to return to student development work, having served 24 years in higher education before working with children and families for the last few years. Please say hello when you see me around campus!
