- Encourages students in developing critical as well as creative thinking through the exploration of materials, processes, concepts, and imagery; through exposure to a wide range of ideas, students develop their own sense of direction. Introduces advanced principles, methods and processes of painting through mini lectures, research, studio work and critique. Concepts based on contemporary ideas and images relating to painting are explored. Credits taken may be applied to the Oregon Transfer Degree, the Associate of General Studies degree, toward fulfilling the humanities requirement or elective requirement, or may be taken to pursue a personal educational track, whether towards a career in art, or for aesthetic and psychological enrichment.
- Zoom Classes: Class will meet during the listed times via Zoom. Information about Zoom-based classes will be available in the course Blackboard shell on the first day of the term. All teachers expect students to participate in the class on the first day of the term. Students not participating during the first day may be subject to administrative drop. Students should have access to a web cam and audio capabilities on their computer to fully participate in a Zoom class. Some Zoom classes are delivered in hybrid format and will have additional course participation requirements outside of Zoom sessions.
