- Class provides training to become a Community Health Workers (CHW). CHWs are frontline public health workers who have a close understanding and connection to the community they serve. This relationship enables CHWs to serve as a link between health/social services and the community, to facilitate access to services, and improve the quality and cultural competence of service delivery. This 120-hour online course is approved by the Oregon Health Authority for State CHW Certification. Six Saturday sessions are from 9 a.m-3:50 p.m. on 9/24/22, 10/1/22, 10/15/22, 10/29/22, 11/12/22 and 11/19/22. Course is also available as a non-credit class, $499 total tuition.
- Zoom Classes: Class will meet during the listed times via Zoom. Information about Zoom-based classes will be available in the course Blackboard shell on the first day of the term. All teachers expect students to participate in the class on the first day of the term. Students not participating during the first day may be subject to administrative drop. Students should have access to a web cam and audio capabilities on their computer to fully participate in a Zoom class. Some Zoom classes are delivered in hybrid format and will have additional course participation requirements outside of Zoom sessions.
