Description
Learn the basic terms and principles of wine tasting and wine making in a fun and interactive environment. We will explore basic wine production from grape to glass and discuss basic wine characteristics; color, aromatics, and flavors using basic methodology and terminology. Class will meet at various local wineries for opportunities to practice newly learned skills in a fun, positive and responsible atmosphere. Students will be responsible for paying the $10 wine tasting fee at each of the wineries we visit. Class will meet on the following Saturdays throughout the summer: 6/26, 7/10, 7/17, 7/24, 7/31, 8/7, 8/14. Required text for class, “Wine Folly: The Essential Guide to Wine” by Madeline Puckett can be purchased on Amazon for around $20. Must be 21 or older to register. Students will be asked to sign an Alcohol Hold Harmless waiver before participating in class.
