American Sign Language I (Spring 2021)

- Learn to speak with your hands! Develop the skills and knowledge needed to communicate in ASL and enjoy better communication with family members, be able to help others, and have fun using a new mode of expression. You will be introduced to basic sign language vocabulary and fingerspelling. In addition, you will learn various aspects of Deaf culture and history. *You are liable for payment at the time of registration. Charges will be removed from your account only if RCC cancels the class, or you officially drop the class 3 business days prior to the start date. - Zoom Classes: Class will meet during the listed times via Zoom. Information about Zoom-based classes will be available in the course Blackboard shell on the first day of the term. All teachers expect students to participate in the class on the first day of the term. Students not participating during the first day may be subject to administrative drop. Students should have access to a web cam and audio capabilities on their computer to fully participate in a Zoom class. Some Zoom classes are delivered in hybrid format and will have additional course participation requirements outside of Zoom sessions.
