- Offers an effective method for reducing stress and creating a relaxation response within the body and mind. Through a series of controlled exercises, stretching, and breathing techniques, this course will give students firsthand experience with the concepts and applications of being responsible for improving health. Yoga enhances flexibility, strength, coordination, lung capacity and balance through a system of gentle movements: various yoga poses (asanas), alignment principles, and breathing techniques (pranayamas). Students of all ability levels and all faith systems are welcome. Course is repeatable.
- Zoom Classes: Class will meet during the listed times via Zoom. Information about Zoom-based classes will be available in the course Blackboard shell on the first day of the term. All teachers expect students to participate in the class on the first day of the term. Students not participating during the first day may be subject to administrative drop. Students should have access to a web cam and audio capabilities on their computer to fully participate in a Zoom class. Some Zoom classes are delivered in hybrid format and will have additional course participation requirements outside of Zoom sessions.
- Yoga: It is recommended that students have their own personal yoga mat, two 4-inch yoga blocks, and one 8-foot yoga strap. Contact instructor for more details.
