Board Welcomes Incoming President
Dear Rogue Community College and the Communities We Serve:
It is my great pleasure to announce that the Rogue Community College (RCC) Board of Education has appointed Randy Weber, Ed.D. as the 7th president of RCC, effective July 1, 2022.
Dr. Weber is a dynamic and innovative leader who is extraordinarily qualified to lead our college in the 21st century. Dr. Weber comes to RCC from his most recent leadership position as the Executive Vice President/Chief Student Success and Strategy Officer at Johnson County Community College in Overland Park, Kansas. He brings to RCC 14 years of experience serving three different community colleges in cabinet-level leadership roles.
Presidential transitions are important moments in the life of a college. I'm confident that Dr. Weber will bring fresh perspectives to the challenges and opportunities in front of us and form a new strategic vision that will build on the fundamental strengths of RCC and secure an even brighter future for us.
Our entire board was impressed with his authenticity, integrity, visioning and exemplary leadership skills. We are also happy to welcome his expertise in strategic planning and implementation. Dr. Weber was unanimously selected from a highly competitive pool of 35 applicants, 13 semifinalists and five finalists - tough competition from which he rose to the top with ease.
Dr. Weber's experience as a first-generation community college graduate himself will bring a special quality to his leadership; knowing what it is like to succeed beyond what have been family traditions, life circumstances or expectations. He also has demonstrated his commitment to ensure similar opportunities are created through educational opportunities for thousands of students who have similar dreams.
We thank the College community for its input, trust in the process, and support through this effort. The Board would like to extend special thanks to the members of the Presidential Search Advisory Committee, which was composed of faculty, staff, students, board members, and community members, for their dedication to RCC in this important endeavor.
Sincerely,
Roger Stokes
Chair, Board of Education
