President's Message – Spring 2022.
I would like to express my deepest admiration for RCC students, faculty and staff who have remained resilient throughout the 2021-2022 academic year despite many challenges. Our students continue to pursue their dreams, and our employees continue to meet students where they are, keeping our educational pathways vibrant and supportive. It is an honor to walk alongside you on this journey.
As spring arrives, I share everyone’s excitement and hope as we welcome fair weather and improved community health. We see many signs of more vibrant on-campus activity in spring term and beyond.
As a community, we will warmly welcome a new RCC President in July. I share in your enthusiasm as a new leader guides this college on the next phase of its journey to better serve students, ensuring each one success on their path of self-discovery, skill mastery, personal growth and successful achievements.
Our new RCC strategic plan and thoughtful program priorities will ensure our students’ best opportunities remain the focus of all that we do. Both our plan and our priorities are founded on an ever-deepening understanding of, and commitment to, creating equity, implementing new pathways for inclusion, removing barriers to access and honoring our diverse student body and employee network. I am proud of passing that bright vision along to RCC’s new leader.
As your President through June 30, 2022, I remain committed to student access to and achievement at RCC. Your success is also ours and the success of our entire region. Together, we remain a visionary center for education, workforce development and community enrichment in Southern Oregon.
Welcome to RCC! May the path to your dreams begin with us.
Cathy Kemper-Pelle, Ed.D.
