How to make a data request:

  1. Go to the RCC SharePoint Menu.
  2. Click IR Data Request Form.
  3. Click New Entry at the bottom of the page.
  4. Fill out the form.
  5. Click Submit at the bottom of the page or Cancel/Exit if you don’t want to make a submission.
  6. Status updates will be sent through email.
  7. Feel free to provide feedback on how you think the IR Data Request Form could be improved.

Things to consider before starting a data request:

  • Do not wait until the last minute to submit a data request. As there is a constant demand for data, we may not be able to fulfill your request by your specified due date if it is submitted without advanced notice. At least two weeks are needed, depending on the data request and current IR workload. If you need your request fulfilled in less than two weeks, please run your request by your dean and have them send an email to Laurie Roe for approval.
  • Carefully research what is needed before filling out the request and be very detailed in describing the data requirements. Is your request limited to a certain type of student, a certain year or term, a specific campus? Changes made to the request once it is in progress may result in a longer wait time.
  • If you would like data on a specific cohort of students (e.g., students in a major or learning community), best data will be obtained if their student IDs are provided (though not in the data request, please).
  • Take time to think about how your request is linked to the RCC Strategic Plan if you have not already.
