Bill Jiron – Director of Workforce Training & Community Education Services
Bill was born and raised in Las Cruces New Mexico and graduated from New Mexico State University majoring in education with a minor in chemistry.
In 1975 he moved to the Bakersfield area of California to begin his teaching and coaching career but was lured by the romance and mystic of the wine industry. He spent the next 25 years making millions of gallons of wine, and spirits, concluding with his own boutique winery in Grants Pass.
Bill returned to his educational roots in 1998 and worked for the Three Rivers School District teaching and coaching at the secondary level, until joining Rogue Community College as a Training Services Coordinator within Workforce Training in March of 2002.
He is currently the Director of Workforce Training and Community Education Services with the goal of providing quality opportunities for the local workforce to skill up, while promoting life long learning.
