History
The Discovery Programs at Rogue Community College (RCC) have hosted an AmeriCorps Member from the Communities in Partnership to Stop Violence Against Women and Children since the fall of 2002. Each AmeriCorps Member is encouraged to leave a Legacy Project for their host site. This member was inspired to leave a resource on campus for women in need to access as well as an center that provides education on gender issues.

In November of 2003, the Discovery Programs received a grant from Trust Management Services for $8,000 over a 2 year period to establish the first ever YES! (You Expect Success) Women’s Resource Center on the Redwood and Riverside Campuses of RCC. After careful planning, the YES! Centers opened their doors in spring of 2004. Each Center is staffed by student workers and volunteers dedicated to making the YES! Women’s Resource Center a lasting entity at RCC.
