- Florence, Italy, September 27-December 13, 2013
Enjoy a European experience in the heart of a Renaissance city while pursuing your community college education in Italian language, sociology, women's studies, and probably art history. With sufficient enrollment, the program will also include courses in creative writing, film and drama.
- London, England, TBA Spring 2014
Study in the exciting and beautiful British capital, rich in art, music, theater and history. RCC, as a member of the Oregon International Education Consortium, offers a 10-week program with tours, culture class, and several academic courses in music fundamentals, understanding music, history of rock music, and probably world history. With sufficient enrollment, the program will also include courses in creative writing, literature and folklore. Alternates every other year with Barcelona: next offered in 2014.
- Barcelona, Spain, March 24 - June 2, 2013
Study in the Mediterranean capitol of Catalonia. Explore a city as old as its Roman roots and medieval center, but as new as its Gaudi park, nouveau art architecture and 1992 Olympic make-over. This new ten-week program offers activities and courses in Spanish culture, language, modern European history, early American history (including Spain's influences) and mass communications. With sufficient enrollment, additional courses available in humanities. Alternates every other year with London: next offered in 2013.
- San José, Costa Rica, June 20 - July 19, 2013
Study Spanish during a two-week homestay and earn 4 transfer credits; then earn another 4 credits in two weeks of field biology at mountainous Ecolodge San Luis, at the Pacific-side Organization of Tropical Studies field station at Palo Verde, and at La Selva in the lowland tropical forest. - Cuzco, Peru, July 29 - August 30, 2013
Become immersed in the Latin American setting of Cuzco, Peru through language classes, on-site sociology courses, and public service. Cuzco, Peru is the ancient capital of the Incan empire and contemporary center of tourism. With its blend of Incan walls, colonial and modern architecture, Cuzco is ideally shown off in the town square, the Plaza de Armas, from which you can see and visit the Renaissance style Cathedral, The Jesuit La Campania, and the Coricancha, or Incan Temple of the Sun.

Gilman International Scholarship--Up to $5,000 for study abroad
The Oregon International Education Consortium consists of Chemeketa Community College, Central Oregon Community College, Clackamas Community College, Mount Hood Community College, Portland Community College, Rogue Community College, and Southwestern Oregon Community College. The Consortium offers study programs in four countries ranging from two weeks to a full quarter.
The OIEC accepts up to 30 students from member colleges in Oregon. Space, therefore, is limited to qualified students. Applications must be correctly completed and include the required deposit, in order to be considered. American Institute for Foreign Study (AIFS), our partner institution, makes all logistical arrangements, including travel, insurance, and housing for the full term programs in Italy and London. All program payments are paid to AIFS. The OIEC makes all academic arrangements, which include course offerings and instructors. The Mexico and Costa Rica Programs are led by OIEC consortium instructors who coordinate the programs at approved academic institutions in Mexico and Costa Rica contracted through OIEC.
