Oregon Administrative Rule Chapter 437, Division 155 was developed to become a part of the "Employee Right To Know Act", which makes access to the information on hazardous chemicals possible. The employee guide to Rogue Community College's Hazard Communication Program is designed to assist you in locating more comprehensive reference materials for the hazardous chemicals on your campus. This information is to be conveyed by means of "a hazard communication program including labels, material safety data sheets, training, and access to written records." The Guide and test has been developed to help staff comply with the Act within department/work areas.
OSHA's Bloodborne Pathogen Standard, 29 CFR 1910.1030 covers all employees who could be "reasonably anticipated" as the result of performing their job duties to face contact with blood and other potentially infectious materials. The purpose of the Standard is to limit occupational exposure to blood and other potentially infectious materials since any exposure could result in transmission of bloodborne pathogens which could lead to disease or death.
