Description:
To provide support and encourage Hispanics to continue their higher education, The Hispanic Metropolitan Chamber provides annual scholarship awards to qualifying applicants. Since 1996, the Hispanic Chamber has awarded over $1.8 million in individually and corporate sponsored scholarships, to 738 Latino students throughout Oregon and SW Washington.

Requirements
• Unofficial transcripts for a minimum of two years. If you are a first year college student, please provide your current college transcript, plus your high school transcript. If selected as a 2016 scholarship recipient you will be ask for grade verification by submitting official and certified transcripts.

General Requirements

1) Applicant must be of Hispanic ancestry, permanently residing in Oregon or Clark County, Washington
2) Applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent residents, asylees, or individuals, who are lawfully authorized to work full-time without restriction for any U.S. employer and who, at the time of application, possess lawful evidence of employment authorization.
3) Applicant must have at least a 3.0 GPA as evidenced by a high school or college transcript.
4) Applicants will be evaluated on academics, extra-curricular activities, community service, written essays, and letters of recommendation
5) Applicant must be enrolled by September 2016 in an accredited community college, 4 year college or university, or accredited graduate degree program.
