Description:
The Rogue Community College Foundation is a non-profit organization founded over 30 years ago to serve the needs of Rogue Community College and RCC students. The foundation was created to receive and administer donations to endowment funds, scholarship funds, and for special college project needs and fundraising.

Through submission of an RCC Foundation Scholarship Application, students are able to apply for all available scholarships at once; nearly 200 separate funds. Individual award amounts vary from $100 up to $3000, however students may receive multiple awards. The Rogue Community College Foundation has been awarding an average of over $400,000 per year for the last eight years.

Academic Plans
You will be asked about your academic plans. Most scholarships require a declared major. The major you list on your scholarship application should match your declared major with RCC. Please meet with your advisor to ensure that the major you are pursuing matches the major you have declared with RCC. If you are selected for a scholarship that has a specific major as a qualifier and you are not actually pursuing that major, the scholarship will be rescinded.

FAFSA
Submit your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) before you apply for scholarships requiring financial need. You are not required to submit your FAFSA, however, most scholarships that has a financial need requirement, will require this information for you to be considered for the scholarship. The FAFSA can be completed online at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov

1. When you apply for admission to RCC, you are given a voluntary option of providing your Social Security number. If you want to receive financial aid, or be considered for RCC scholarships that require a FAFSA, you must provide your Social Security number. RCC uses the Social Security number to match students with their FAFSA results.
2. You must direct FAFSA to send your results to Rogue Community College when applying for financial aid.
3. If a RCCF scholarship requires submission of a FAFSA, the FAFSA must be submitted by the scholarship deadline and students must have followed the directions in steps 1-2 listed above.

Transcripts are Required:
RCC Students: Upload a copy of your unofficial transcript which is available on your MyRogue account.
High School Graduates: Upload an official transcript from your high school.
All other Transcripts: If you have attended any college other than RCC, please upload an official transcript from the college.
GED or Alternative High School: If you have completed a GED, or received a high school diploma through an alternative program, or have completed at three GED tests, submit proof of this completion.
Transcripts or GED documents are required for ALL applicants. Documents must be uploaded into the AwardSpring application in PDF format. Other file formats will not be accepted. Please be sure ALL pages of your documents are uploaded and that they are not upside down. Sometimes a PDF file becomes damaged or contains corrupt data. Check your PDF files before you complete your application. Corrupt or damaged files that cannot be viewed will not be scored. Paper copies of documents will not be accepted.

Essay Questions
You will be required to write three essay questions. You are encouraged to prepare
these essays prior to logging into AwardSpring. Then you can cut and paste them into
the appropriate section of the application. Answers must be limited to no more than 175 words for each question.

NOTE: Keep a copy of your essay questions if you want to use them in the future. The Foundation will
not be able to provide you with copies of any information you submit in your application.

1) Explain your career aspirations and what made you choose this career path. Address your educational plan to meet these goals. Be specific. (150 – 200 words)

2) Describe a significant challenge or accomplishment that has occurred in your life. How did you respond and what did you learn about yourself? (125 – 175)

3) Highlight an activity or interest that you are involved with or a responsibility you have outside of your classes. What have you learned from that activity that helps you as a student? (125 – 175)

The final question in this section is limited to a five word answer.
4) In five words or less, what would a scholarship from the RCC Foundation mean to you?

Letters of Recommendation
Each applicant is required to have two letters of recommendation as part of their application. This MUST be done online through the AwardSpring online application. Absolutely no paper recommendations will be accepted, no exceptions. You will submit the name and email of the person who you would like to recommend you. In your application, you will be able to see if the recommendation is pending or if it has been completed. You may opt to resend the request or add an additional request to another person. If you send out requests to more than one person, be aware that we will only accept one and the first letter we receive will be the recommendation scored with your application, no exceptions. If a recommender has not responded, and you would like to send a request to a new person, you may also do this in the recommendation section.
Special Criteria:
A Rogue Community College ID# is required to complete your application. If you already have an RCC ID#, you will be able to log-in immediately.

If you have never attended RCC before, or if it has been over one year since you last attended, you need to complete an admission or readmission application. Once you are admitted and you have an RCC ID#, and you still cannot log in, please email [email protected] and we will assist you in the process. This may take up to 48 hours to complete or longer if it is near the application deadline due to the high volume of applicants. Please, do NOT wait till the last minute to start your scholarship application.

Applications without transcripts will be automatically disqualified!

IMPORTANT: Do NOT get letters of recommendations from family members or friends. These will be given a score of zero.
