The cost of higher education has dramatically increased in recent years making it harder and harder for college bound students to pay for the college experience. Votacall views this alarming trend as a major problem and as proponents of higher education, we would like to help. Therefore, we established The Annual Votacall Innovate | Communicate College Scholarship Essay Contest. Applicants must submit an essay addressing a technology related topic provided by Votacall. The winning entry will be awarded a $2,000 scholarship by the Votacall Scholarship Committee.

To participate, applicants must be currently enrolled in or planning to attend an accredited United States college or university during the 2017-2018 academic year.
Special Criteria:
To participate in the contest, applicants should write a 600-word essay answering the following question:

Look into your crystal ball for a moment. Technology impacts our lives tremendously both personally and professionally. Some would say technology advances us while others believe that it will eventually hold us back as people.

Under the influence of Technology, good or bad, what will the world look like in 20 years and what will be the omnipresent technological advance that will drive us there?

People who wish to participate should send their essay as an attachment in an email to [email protected] by September 15, 2017. In the body of the email, applicants should include the following information:

Your name, address, and phone number
If you are under 18, contact information for your parents
The name of the school you are attending or planning on attending
Your current course of study
The best way to contact you

Once the application period has ended, our scholarship committee will review the essays and choose a winner by October 15, 2017. The winner will be chosen considering the following factors:

Originality
Responsiveness to the question asked
The quality of the writing
The substantive content of the response
