At Mission Creek Orthodontics, we are committed to helping students with the cost of their education. Our goal is to provide a scholarship to a deserving student once a year. If you have any questions, please contact the scholarship progem administrator at [email protected].

Essay Question:
The year is 2016. You have been asked to buy a toy for an 8 year old child in the local elementary school. Your only guidelines are the following:

1) The toy must not require power to operate (i.e. no batteries or plugins are necessary to use the toy)...and

2) The toy must help the child develop a skill that is beneficial in an educational environment. For example, many studies suggest a correlation between spatial skills and early interaction with toy blocks, such as Legos. Good spatial ability is essential in engineering, physics, math, and computer science.

To be Eligible a student must:

A) Be attending college or university no later than December of 2016.

B) Be attending college or university on a full-time basis by December of 2016.

C) Submit an answer to the essay question no later than 11:59 PM EST on May 15, 2016.

D) Be currently in your last year of high school or a freshman, sophomore, or junior in college/university.

*Note that you can be enrolled in any field of study.
Special Criteria:
Your Essay should cover the following aspects:
1) Clearly identify the toy you have chosen.
2) Clearly identify the skill set you believe the toy will help the child with.
3) Clearly explain how the skill will help them in the future educational endeavors.
4) Explain why you believe the toy you have chosen is the best toy to purchase for the child.

Please ensure your essay does not exceed 650 words.
