Description:
The Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults is committed to helping young adults continue their education after being affected by cancer through their own diagnosis or the diagnosis of a loved one. Many scholarships offered by UCF share similar applicant criteria. Applicants need only submit one application, which will be considered for any and all scholarships for which the student applies and is eligible.

Applicants must have been between the ages of 15 and 39 during their own diagnosis/treatment or during the diagnosis/treatment of their parent or sibling.

Scholarship winners will be awarded a total of $2500 over two academic semesters. Scholarship funds will be paid directly to the scholarship recipient’s school. Each scholarship winner is obligated to organize and run a bone marrow registry drive with the support of Delete Blood Cancer and There Goes My Hero.

If you are interested in applying for any of the scholarships offered by The Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults, we ask that you follow our Application Process Checklist below. This will help guide you as you complete your online application.

1) Click the “Apply Now” button to begin the application process. You will be directed to our online application.
2) Click the “Register” button.
3) During this process you will be required to set up a login and password (this information will be emailed to the address you enter). This login and password allows you to save your uncompleted application and return to complete it at your convenience.
4) Be sure to provide responses to all applications questions. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
5) Attach your completed essay form, physician verification form or death certificate as applicable. Please make sure your name is at the top of your essay. The essay prompt and physician verification form are available for download below.
6) Send out your “Letter of Recommendation” request through the online site. You may edit the letter as needed. Be sure you have the correct email address. Questions the person who is writing your recommendation letter should reference can be found in the link below.
7) Make your selection(s) from the list of recommended scholarships for which you would like to apply.
8) Review and complete the eligibility requirements provided for each scholarship you select.
9) You are able to return to the application, picking up at the point in which you left off to continue with any unanswered questions. You may save and edit as often as you wish prior to submitting your completed application by the deadline of March 1, 2016.
10) When your application is finalized, submit the application by selecting the APPLY NOW button(s) per your scholarship selection(s) on the application site.
