All student positions require current enrollment in 6 or more credits and a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher. prior to applying for Federal Work Study positons, students must be receiving Financial Aid and need to verify eligibility for Federal Work Study funding with the Financial Aid Department. Federal Work Study (FWS) jobs may be located on campus or off-campus. On campus positions provide employment in RCC Departments. Off campus positions provide employment at local, private non-profit and public agencies. Qualified students who are interested in tutoring children in reading may apply for America Reads positions, which can be located at local elementary schools, pre-schools, childcare centers, after-school programs, family and community based literacy programs. Current FWS job openings are listed on our web-based service. Learn & Earn is another category of campus-based employment for students. These positions provide work only in RCC Departments for qualified students who are enrolled in 6 or more credits and have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher. Student Employment Services is in daily contact with companies, organizations, and individuals seeking students to work in a variety of jobs. Many jobs have flexible hours to accommodate class schedules. Employers that list positions on our web-based service especially value the enthusiasm, knowledge and experience of RCC's students. Please follow the application procedures listed on job postings that may include the option of an on-line application. Current job openings for community businesses are listed on our web-based service. Cooperative Work Experience (CWE) Students can gain hands-on experience in a local business while earning college credit through the CWE program. Most certificate programs require CWE and most programs include CWE as an approved elective (including the AA/Oregon Transfer degree). Check with your advisor or the Student Employment Services office for individual program requirements. Your advisor can help you identify a worksite or you may check our web-based job listing service for additional opportunities. With CWE on your resume, you are more qualified for the competitive job market.
