Many people find the task of looking for a job overwhelming at first. To assist you in your job hunt, the following materials are included for organizing and planning your search.
The list below provides a systematic method for assessing your readiness to undertake a job search. Before you begin looking for work, make certain you are equipped with the essentials.

Identified appropriate workshops for developing job-seeking skills.
Completed at least one resume and cover letter.
Purchased resume paper and large envelopes.
Located access to computer and typewriter.
Cleaned up message on answering machine.
Contacted possible references.
Prepared list of job references.
Have given resume packets to references.
Organized work area with a record keeping system (notebook, calendar, and task schedule) near the telephone.
Purchase or borrow two interviewing outfits.
Employment plan begun: a four to six month plan with long and short-term goals.
Prepare a six-month budget.
Prepare a prioritized list of potential employers.
Found two personal support people identified specifically for job search.
