Jim and his wife, Julia, moved to Grants Pass in 2002 to be close to family. Jim spent most of his life prior to that in the sunny state of California. After graduating from Cal Poly University, he played Minor League baseball and was a successful pitcher. A shoulder injury required him to step away from the game he loved so much. In 1967, Jim began his teaching career in mathematics and driver education. He was also a highly successful football and baseball coach.
Jim’s pastimes include: hunting, fishing, and genealogy. He has taught Traffic Safety at RCC for 6 years, and he also teaches Algebra at Brighton Academy. Jim’s goal is to help students develop good habits so that they will react with good decisions while driving.
