Cross the bridge from Education to Experience

CWE
Cooperative Work Experience

Ever have a potential employer tell you to, “Come back after you have more experience?” How do you get the experience if you can’t get hired? CWE could be an answer.

What is CWE? Cooperative Work Experience (CWE) is an educational partnership between Rogue Community College, the business community, and RCC students. CWE integrates work experience with academic studies. Students can earn credit and a grade for practical learning obtained at a community worksite. Work activity used for CWE credit may be paid or unpaid; the important factor is the learning.

Why CWE? CWE allows you to apply classroom learning to a real world context. With CWE on your resume, you are more qualified in the competitive job market. Your CWE training site supervisor may become a good reference for future jobs. Many CWE students are hired by their training site supervisors, directly into permanent positions. Many professional/technical programs at RCC require CWE credits for graduation. Up to 12 CWE can be used as elective credits toward an AAOT.
