Making Long Distance Calls

Obtaining a Long Distance Code:

If you do not have an access code and you are an RCC employee-not a student, please contact the Communications
Technician at extension 7277 to obtain an access code.

Making a Long Distance External Call:

To make a long distance call of any kind, you must have a long distance access code.

Instructions:

• Lift the handset or leave it down. (Leaving the handset down will activate the speaker phone.)
• Dial 8, 1, the area code, and the telephone number.
• Listen for a tone [sound].
• Once you hear the sound, enter your long distance access code.
