Long-Range Goals

1999-2000

  1. To pursue the enterprise of learning with courage and generosity.
  2. To empower those we teach and serve by helping them develop and attain their goals.
  3. To expand access and service through program development and facilities provision.
  4. To reach students’ goals and program outcomes through appropriate assessment.
  5. To advance communication and interaction with our communities, build partnerships and maintain accountability.
  6. To communicate effectively and nurture ongoing development within our organization.
  7. To respect the dignity and diversity of each individual, providing equal opportunity in an open and safe environment.
  8. To establish budgets with the necessary funding to achieve our mission.
  9. To recognize that measured risk must be taken for our vision to be realized and to support those who venture toward these goals.

Short-Range Goals

(1999-2000 Strategic Initiatives)

  1. To assess and enhance student recruitment, intake and retention processes.
  2. To promote institutional growth with appropriate support for technology and student and administrative support services.
  3. To develop new college offerings and programs that are closely matched with community needs and necessary college infrastructure.
  4. To develop and fund a marketing plan with targeted, measurable objectives.
  5. To inform our communities about ongoing outreach efforts and partnerships by using modern technology and other media.
  6. To utilize the results of outcome assessments to improve accountability and service.
  7. To improve systems incorporating faculty and staff in decision-making processes, with particular emphasis on part-time and Jackson County faculty and staff.
  8. To foster collegiality and better accommodate students’ needs through strengthened interdepartmental, interdivisional, and intercampus communications and activities.
  9. To provide and promote a broad spectrum of personal and professional staff development opportunities.
  10. To seek continual feedback on the internal communication process.
