Donna received a
BA in Business from Northwest Christian College. She has been
employed as a small business specialist for RCC SBDC since 1984
and has developed and taught classes for the SBDC since the late
1980's.
Siegel, Steve
Steve received
a Masters in Botany from San Francisco State University, San
Francisco, California. He owns and operates Silver Creek
Landscape, a successful landscaping business since 1974. Steve
began teaching for RCC in 1974; and has coordinated and taught
RCC's Landscape Management program since 1986.
Stepka, Penny
Penny is
co-owner of Crescent Software and Computers; and has taught SBDC
computer courses since the late 1980's. Prior to that time, she
was a computer instructor for Rogue Community College's
traditional computer courses.
Tagliere, Lew Lew received a
BA in Communication with an emphasis in business communication
from California State University, Fullerton, California. He has
been store manager of Champion, Inc. since 1981; and specializes
in supervision and personnel issues, marketing and promotions,
and inventory control.
Downhill, Shari
Shari Downhill will mentor Josephine County businesses and Linda Ballasy will develop the Jackson County market. They will transition into the position long-time SBM instructor Roger Harding will be vacating when he officially retires Dec. 30.
Downhill owns Northwest Timber Fallers Inc., a privately held cooperative of 50 commercial timber fallers that provides firefighting agencies with trained, insured and safety conscience professional fallers. She is an alumna of Rogue's SBM program, which named her company 2006 Small Business of the Year.
Downhill, who began working with Harding in late July, has a master’s degree in adult education and workplace training from Oregon State University and will be enrolling in Southern Oregon University's weekend master's in business sdministration program. She also has successful grant writing experience and a journalism background, having worked at the Medford Mail Tribune.
Ballasy, Linda
Ballasy will be leaving Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Northwest Washington, which she turned around financially and organizationally in the three years she served as CEO. She was responsible for all facets of operations including fund development, board, community, financial, and marketing. She worked for the National Mentoring Center at Northwest Regional Educational Laboratory training staff to mentor youths, assisting the development of service programs, and facilitating national and regional workshops on marketing, risk management, policies and procedures.
Ballasy has a master's of education in community counseling and an MBA in marketing and management. She also served a year as a part-time business instructor for Central Oregon Community College in the mid 90s. She will start teaching the RCC Small Business Management classes Aug. 20.
