Degree and Certificate ProgramsRCC Higher Education Center

A comprehensive two-year community college, RCC offers academic and career and technical programs, college transfer courses, and basic skills programs for adults.

Academic Skills
Courses are available if your placement tests indicate a need for writing, reading, mathematics, or study skills improvement. Tutoring assistance is provided if you are enrolled in credit classes.
Associate of General Studies
Provides the opportunity to acquire a broad education rather than pursuing a specific college major.
Associate of Science (AS)
Prepares students for transferring to baccalaureate degree programs in applied areas. The AS degree allows you to focus on a particular discipline based upon signed articulation agreements with the universities that have agreed to accept RCC students.
Basic skills programs
ABS offers instruction in areas such as reading, writing, and mathematics. This instruction is provided through Adult Basic Skills programs for General Educational Development (GED®), and English as a Second Language (ESL).
Career and Technical Programs
These programs lead to a certificate or Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree and are designed for career entry upon completion.
Career Pathways Certificate
CPC certificates open the door to a solid start in obtaining your employment and educational goals. Each certificate requires just a few courses. You decide how far you want to go, at a pace that is comfortable for you.
College Transfer
Completing the Associate of Arts/Oregon Transfer degree assures you junior-level standing and the completion of general education requirements at any public institution in the Oregon University System. Completion of this degree is considered the best preparation for transfer to out-of-state or private institutions.
Focus Award
Recognizes student achievement in a specific topic or theme and may be earned in combination with a certificate or degree. Classes may transfer to a variety of programs at a four-year college or university as elective credits, program requirements, and/or graduation requirements for the receiving institution.
Occupational Skills Training (OST)
The OST certificate program is designed to prepare you quickly for employment using hands-on experience in the workplace. OST offers a wide variety of training opportunities in career areas not found elsewhere at RCC.
