About the Club

Purpose Statement:

The purpose of the Rogue Community College Outdoor Adventure Club shall be to promote outdoor recreation activity involvement on campus, and provide a self-governing structure for the social enrichment of students that creates opportunity for the development of character and leadership skills within the interest of outdoor recreation. Members will develop, practice, and share the skills needed to act safely in the outdoors by learning through actual experience in situations that require good judgment, risk management, teamwork, safety, and accountability. As outdoor enthusiasts, the club will participate in various community service activities related to outdoor recreation as a way to contribute to the local community. Each activity is linked to what to pack.

The OAC has committed to participating in two major community service projects each year as a way to give back to the outdoor recreation community. Examples of service projects include river cleanup, trail maintenance, or educational programs in the community.
