Title: Community Service: Trail Maintenance @ Pierce Riffle
Time(s): 10 AM
Pierce Riffle Boat Ramp
Associated Student Government and the Outdoor Adventure Club will be joining forces to do some work on a local trail.
The event needs an awesome name to go on the t-shirts, so please offer your suggestions!
There will be awesome t-shirts available for those that commit in advance to attending and participating. Lunch from Subway, Cliff Bars, and water bottles will be provided by ASG and the OAC.
We will be working to clear the trail that begins at Pierce Riffle Boat Ramp. We've been told that it used to be quite lovely, but has been left to deteriorate as trees fell in its path and blackberries grew over it. This day will be spent making a dent in the accessibility of the trail so that it can be used once again by our community.
Some tools will be provided. However, if you are able to bring personal tools, please do so. Josephine County Parks and Recreation suggested items such as hedge trimmers, clippers, rakes, shovels, etc. You should bring gardening gloves.
Join this event (using the Event Sign-up page or Facebook) to do something good in our community and request a t-shirt in your size by emailing the club at firstname.lastname@example.org or messaging us on Facebook.

Title: Workshop: Indoor Rock Climbing
Time(s): 2:00pm - 5:00pm
Grants Pass YMCA Rock Wall
The Outdoor Adventure Club is hosting a workshop at the Grants Pass YMCA for those interested in learning how to climb or develop their climbing skills.
Don't think you're strong enough? Think again. You don't need to be buff or an athlete to climb. Average build? You'll do great! Bring your friends and try something new!
No climbing experience is required and all gear is provided.
Wear clothing that is comfortable to move in.
For those that have never climbed, we will go over gear and safety for climbing indoors, and then have some hands on practice.
For those that attended the last workshop, you will get a refresher and an opportunity to practice the skills you learned last time by climbing and coaching from more experienced climbers on the YMCA's awesome wall.
If you are an experienced climber, you will have the opportunity to be a teacher by helping others learn how and will be able to take advantage of the opportunity to climb the YMCA wall.
If you are an experienced belayer (and have taken Steve's class), you will be allowed to belay. If you are an experienced belayer that has not taken Steve's class, and would like to belay, you will have to do a quick belay test.
Feel free to ask any questions about the event. Climb on!
Join this event (using the Event Sign-up page or join the Facebook event) if you are interested in learning the basics of indoor rock climbing or developing your climbing skills.
All students, faculty, and community members are welcome.
Bring your friends and try it together!
